What happens to my Blackfinch Ventures EIS Portfolios investment when I die?

When you die, your Blackfinch Ventures EIS Portfolios investment forms part of your estate and will be managed by your personal representatives (the executors of your estate).

EIS shares may qualify for Business Relief from Inheritance Tax if the relevant conditions have been met. There is no clawback of Income Tax relief already received on death.

Following death, the beneficiary inherits the shares at their market value at the date of death.

The tax treatment of EIS investments on death will depend on your personal circumstances. You should speak to your financial adviser and/or tax adviser to understand the implications for your estate planning.
